Heeeeyyoooo~
Okay, remember my last post? My gaming friend told me he also likes to design! He even have a finished prototype already, and it was good. Dang.
Long story short, we decided to design a game together.
We started from the mechanic (unusual for me, I know), and agreed on a duel card game with drafting and programming mechanic using tarot card’s major arcana cards.
Basically there are 2 phases, first divide the deck randomly, 11 cards each. Then player will pick one and put it face down in one of 11 slots available in the player mat. This card cannot be changed in position unless by a card effect. After that, player swap their hands and continue put a card and swap hands until there are no more cards left. Next, phase 2 begins.
In phase 2, players simultaneously open the first card as indicated on the player mat. These cards will be facing each other. The card with higher value resolve the effect first. It continues until all cards are opened, then the scoring phase begins. The player with the higher score wins! Sounds easy? No.
There will be combos.
There will be comebacks.
There will be bloods.
Oh, and you can also play it in solo mode against AI, even though with some restrictions and additional rules.
That’s the core game.
I will update after playtesting it some more! And hopefully we can release it on kickstarter some time soon!
